Full-Face Botox: Which Areas Can Be Treated in a Single Session?

You have probably heard the term full-face Botox and wondered exactly what it means. Does it really cover the whole face? How many areas can realistically be treated in one appointment? And is it right for you?

These are sensible questions, and the answers might be more straightforward than you think. Whether you are new to anti-wrinkle treatments or looking to consolidate your existing routine into a single session, here is what you need to know.

Full-Face Botox: Which Areas Can Be Treated in a Single Session?

What is full-face Botox?

Botox is the well-known brand name for botulinum toxin, a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are the lines that form from repeated facial movements such as squinting, frowning, and raising your eyebrows.

When the muscle is relaxed, the overlying skin smooths out.

Full-face Botox is not a single product that covers the entire face. Rather, it refers to a treatment approach in which multiple areas of the face are assessed and treated within the same appointment.

Instead of addressing just one concern, a practitioner maps the face holistically and targets several areas in a coordinated way to achieve a balanced, natural result.

Botulinum toxin treatments in the UK are prescription-only medicines regulated by the MHRA. This means they must be prescribed and administered by a qualified healthcare professional following a face-to-face consultation.

Which areas can be treated in a single session?

A number of facial areas respond well to botulinum toxin, and combining several in one appointment is both safe and common practice. Treatment plans are always individualised following a thorough consultation.

Below are the areas most commonly included in a full-face approach.

Upper face

  • Forehead Lines: The horizontal lines that appear across the forehead when you raise your eyebrows. One of the most requested treatment areas.
  • Frown Lines (Glabella): The vertical lines between the eyebrows, sometimes called the elevens. Caused by repeated squinting or concentrating
  • Crow's Feet: The fine lines that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint. Botox in this area softens the lines while preserving natural expression.
  • Brow Lift: Small, precise injections beneath the tail of the eyebrow can create a subtle lift and open up the eye area without surgery.

Mid-face and nose

  • Bunny Lines: The small diagonal lines that appear on the sides of the nose when you scrunch it. These are often treated alongside the glabella for a more uniform result.
  •  Gummy Smile: If the upper lip rises too high when smiling and exposes a significant amount of gum tissue, a small amount of botulinum toxin injected at the base of the nose can reduce the lift and create a more proportionate smile.

Lower face and lips

  • Lip Flip: A small dose placed just above the upper lip causes it to roll slightly outward, creating the appearance of a fuller lip without adding volume. A subtle alternative or complement to lip filler.
  • Smoker's Lines: The fine vertical lines above the upper lip, sometimes called perioral lines. These can appear even in non-smokers and respond well to careful treatment in this area.
  • Downturned Mouth: Injections at the corners of the mouth can reduce the pull of the depressor muscles that drag the corners downward, creating a more neutral or lifted resting expression.

Jaw and neck

  • Teeth Grinding and Jaw Slimming (Masseter): Injections into the masseter muscle at the jaw reduce its bulk over time, which can relieve symptoms of bruxism (teeth grinding and jaw clenching) and create a more oval facial profile.
  • Nefertiti Neck Lift: injections along the jawline and into the platysma bands of the neck tighten the lower face and reduce the vertical cords that develop on the neck with age. Named after the Egyptian queen renowned for her long, elegant neck.

What full-face Botox cannot treat

Botulinum toxin works on dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement. It does not address volume loss, static lines that are visible at rest, or skin laxity. These concerns are better suited to dermal fillers, skin boosters, or treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels.

A good practitioner will assess your face as a whole and recommend a combination approach if appropriate, rather than applying botulinum toxin to areas where it is unlikely to produce the result you are looking for. Honest guidance at the consultation stage is a key marker of quality aesthetic care.

When is treating multiple areas in one session the right approach?

Combining areas in a single appointment is a practical and clinically sensible option. It may be right for you if:

  • You have several areas of concern and want a balanced outcome rather than treating them in isolation
  • You are already familiar with anti-wrinkle treatments and know which areas respond well for you
  • You want to reduce the number of clinic visits while maintaining a consistent result
  • Your practitioner has assessed the face holistically and recommended a coordinated treatment plan
  •   You have a special occasion or event and want a refreshed, natural result across multiple areas before it

If you are having botulinum toxin for the first time, your practitioner may recommend starting conservatively and reviewing results at a two-week follow-up before deciding on further areas. This cautious approach protects you and ensures results that feel right for your face.
