Mr Prakash completed his MS Orthopaedics (Gold Medallist) in India, obtained FRCS (Glasgow), and undertook three UK spinal fellowships in Nottingham, Dorset and Harlow, covering complex deformity, degenerative spine, trauma and tumour work. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and podium presentations, and has a longstanding commitment to governance,consent, MDT working, audit and the training of junior surgeons.
He is a highly experienced Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon whose practice has spanned complex spinal surgery, upper and lower limb surgery, trauma and sports injury surgery in busy UK hospitals and multidisciplinary teams. Over his consultant career he has performed more than 1,300 spinal procedures, injection treatments, managing degenerative, deformity, trauma, tumour and infection-related spinal disorders. He has also gained extensive experience in managing upper and lower limb conditions and orthopaedic trauma during his years at Southend University Hospital and multiple other renowned centres.
His current independent sector practice is centred on spinal and orthopaedic outpatient services, with a strong emphasis on spinal (including facet joint, caudal epidural and trigger point injections) and musculoskeletal pain management injections for upper and lower limb conditions, alongside structured conservative care. He aims to provide clear diagnosis, rational use of imaging, and tailored treatment plans that prioritise function, safety and patient understanding.

Spinal pain: Degenerative spinal pathologies including disc degeneration, disc prolapse, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, facet joint arthritis, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and coccydynia, presenting as neck pain, back pain, sacroiliac joint pain, coccyx pain and sciatica type symptoms.
Management of spinal pain: Facet joint injections, caudal epidural injections and trigger point injections.
General orthopaedics and trauma management: Arthritis and soft tissue conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, foot and ankle, managed through peripheral joint, soft tissue and trigger point injections, plus adult trauma followup.
