How much do travel vaccinations cost at SABA?
Every visit starts with a £125 travel health consultation, and each vaccine is priced per dose.
SABA prices, October 2026. A £30 administration fee is added to vaccines.
If you have private medical insurance or a health plan through work, check whether your policy covers travel vaccinations before you book. Business travellers can also ask their employer.

Which travel vaccines do I need?
It depends on your destination, the length of your trip and what you'll be doing. Your GP at SABA reviews your trip and your medical history, then gives you a vaccination plan.
- Many destinations: hepatitis A is common in many parts of the world, and typhoid vaccine is advised for many parts of Asia and Africa.
- Longer stays or rural travel: rabies vaccine is advised for high-risk destinations, and Japanese encephalitis vaccine for longer trips to rural Asia.
- Hajj and some African destinations: a meningitis ACWY vaccine is required. Ours costs £85, with the certificate included.
- Everyone: check your diphtheria, tetanus and polio booster is up to date. A booster is recommended if you haven't had one in the last 10 years.
Bring any vaccination records you have, so we can avoid repeating vaccines you've already had.
Not sure what your trip needs? See our travel clinic in Bishop's Stortford, or call reception on 01279 874388 and tell us where you're going.
When should I book travel vaccinations?
Book 4 to 6 weeks before you travel. The NHS gives the same advice. Some vaccines need several doses spread over weeks, and others take time to start protecting you.
If your trip is sooner, book anyway. Your GP can still advise you on what's possible in the time you have.

What happens at a travel health appointment?
- Book online, by phone or on WhatsApp. Tell reception where you're going and when.
- A GP reviews your trip, your medical history and any vaccines you've already had.
- You agree a vaccination plan, and the vaccines are given in clinic.
- You leave with your travel letter, and dates for any further doses.
The clinic is at Chapel House, Thremhall Park, just off the A120 and close to Stansted Airport, with free parking outside.
Can I get travel vaccinations free on the NHS?
Yes, some. Hepatitis A, typhoid, cholera and the combined diphtheria, tetanus and polio vaccine are free from your NHS GP surgery, after you fill in a travel risk assessment form. Hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis and yellow fever usually have to be paid for.
A private travel appointment may suit you if:
- you need vaccines that aren't free on the NHS, such as rabies or Japanese encephalitis
- you'd like all your vaccines and advice in one appointment
- your NHS GP surgery doesn't offer travel vaccines or can't see you in time
Yellow fever vaccine is only given at registered yellow fever centres, and it isn't on our price list. Malaria tablets aren't on our price list either, so ask reception before you book if you need them.
