How it works
Here is what to expect when you book your ADHD assessment with us.
Step 1. Book Your Appointment
Call us on 01279 874388, message us on WhatsApp, or book online. No GP letter is needed — we will confirm your appointment and send pre-assessment screening forms to complete before your visit.
Step 2. Complete the QbTest
On the day of your assessment, you will complete the QbTest, a 20-minute computer-based task measuring attention, impulsivity, and activity levels against a database of peers. This provides objective data to support the clinical interview.
Step 3. Specialist Diagnostic Interview (DIVA-5)
You will then meet with our specialist clinician for a 90 to 120-minute structured interview covering your history, current challenges, and the specific areas where you are experiencing difficulty. You are welcome to bring a partner, parent, or close friend to add further context.
Step 4. Receive Your Diagnostic Report
Within seven days, you will receive a comprehensive written report including your diagnosis, clinical findings, and a clear treatment plan. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss next steps, including titration and shared care with your NHS GP.

- No GP letter or referral letter is required at any stage

Is a private ADHD diagnosis recognised by the NHS?
Yes, provided the assessment follows NICE guidelines (NG87) — which our diagnostic process meets.
- Our reports are written to NICE standards, making shared care agreements significantly more straightforward
- Once you are stable on medication, we provide a shared care agreement letter for your NHS GP
- This allows your GP to take over your prescription at standard NHS rates
You can read more about the relevant NICE guideline here.
How long does the assessment take?
The full assessment typically takes between 90 and 120 minutes, including the QbTest and specialist interview.
- The QbTest is a 20-minute computer-based task completed at the start of your appointment
- The structured DIVA-5 clinical interview follows and takes the majority of the session
- Your written diagnostic report will be ready within seven days of your appointment
Can I get medication on the same day as my diagnosis?
No. Medication is not prescribed on the day of your assessment, even if ADHD is confirmed.
- If ADHD is confirmed and medication is appropriate, we discuss treatment options at the end of your appointment
- You will then begin a titration process, a series of follow-up appointments to find the right medication and dosage
- This approach ensures your treatment is safe, carefully monitored, and right for you
Is everything confidential?
Yes. All assessments, consultations, and reports are fully confidential.
- Nothing is shared with your GP or employer without your explicit consent
- A shared care agreement letter is only issued if you specifically request one
- Your information is handled in accordance with UK data protection law
